Job Purpose

Supervising the media department and continuously working on its development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proposing the media strategic plan and the necessary means to achieve it to the organization's management.
  • Managing the media department in Syria and overseeing daily tasks within Syria.
  • Preparing a separate media plan for each project and following up on its implementation.
  • Supervising the activities of the media department staff in Turkey and providing support to overcome work-related obstacles.
  • Overseeing the management of the organization's social media platforms.
  • Communicating with various internal and external entities, individuals, and organizations to manage the process of exchange and cooperation regarding the organization's media affairs.
  • Monitoring team productivity and optimizing available resources through continuous measurement and development processes.
  • Ensuring implementation in accordance with the organization's approved media policy, monitoring deviations, and correcting them.
  • Participating in project-related meetings at all stages with the donor.
  • Developing the performance of the media office.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Financial Manager within his jurisdiction.

Academic Qualifications, Requirements, and Skills

  • University degree – preferably in media.
  • At least 4 years of experience in media within the humanitarian field.
  • Experience in the humanitarian context of Syria.
  • Ability to conduct media coverage.
  • Ability to publish and write editorially.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms and prominent Arab and international news agencies.
  • Knowledge of modern media strategies.
  • Good command of English in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Proficiency in using Office software and programs related to the department's work.
  • Creativity.
  • Ability to work under pressure and take responsibility.
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage a team.
